lOOK BEYOND YOUR FAMILY TREE

DISCOVER YOUR FAMILY STORY

Your ancestors are easier to find than ever before. On genealogy websites you can quickly discover historical records and build your family tree. However, just knowing these names and dates can only get you so far. If you want to really understand your family’s past, you need to dig deeper. By revealing how your ancestors lived and the events that shaped their lives, I will find your family story.

I'm Rebecca Fairbank, a television producer specialising in history documentaries. I have years of experience in meticulous historical and genealogical research, and a first-class Modern History degree from the University of Oxford. Throughout my career I have both researched and produced acclaimed programmes for major UK broadcasters, including BBC One’s Who Do You Think You Are? and Channel 4’s My Grandparents’ War. I find forgotten historical sources, listen to unheard testimony, and bring little-known stories to screen.

I believe that our own histories, glimpsed in family legends, loft-bound letters, and grandparents’ tales, are far more remarkable than the well-trodden chronicles of Kings and Queens. I would love to explore your family's hidden history, using the same detective skills and historical rigour that I bring to the small screen.

Discover the definitive story of your family, traced through two centuries of ground-breaking history. Genealogical detective work combined with in-depth historical analysis will reveal your family's past, from your grandparents' generation back to the start of the Victorian era.
